The lungs. Anatomically, the pulmones.
Why I created this series
Anatomy Street began when I lost my mentor while she was on a trip to Africa. That May I was waiting to hear back from her and I never did. While waiting for her return, I started exploring the body as architecture: lungs as branching structures, organs as topographic maps. Each piece asks how we house ourselves, and what it means to survive in a body that is both sanctuary and prison. The varied colour palettes represent different emotional states of inhabiting flesh.
- Pink is vulnerability.
- Green is growth.
- Yellow is urgency.
- Purple is grief.
These aren't medical illustrations. They're maps of embodiment.
