Your Story, Your Art.
Creating your own art is a truly magical experience, and I am so excited that we might be doing this together. To ensure I can provide an accurate quote please take your time completing this form. It might take a little bit of time, but trust me, it's worth it.
Steps to create your commission
Whether you’re looking to capture a special moment, tell a personal story, or add a one-of-a-kind piece to your collection, commissioning an artwork is an exciting journey. Here’s a detailed breakdown of what you can expect when you commission a piece with me, from concept to completion
The blank canvas
The first step is a conversation. I want to get to know you—your story, your vision, and what you hope to achieve with the piece.
- How we’ll connect: This can be via a phone call, Zoom meeting, or email exchange—whatever works best for you.
- What we’ll discuss: Your ideas, inspirations, and what drew you to commission this artwork. Any specific themes, colors, or concepts you want to explore. Where the piece will be displayed—this helps me understand size, style, and overall feel. Your budget, timeframe, and any key dates (like events, anniversaries, or exhibitions).
- Why it’s important: This conversation helps ensure that I fully understand your vision and can create something deeply personal and meaningful to you.
The Colour Pallet
Once I’ve gathered your insights, I begin crafting the initial concept. This is where the magic starts to happen!
- What you’ll receive: A detailed concept proposal, which includes: Sketches or mood boards to give you a sense of the direction I’m heading in. Ideas for materials and techniques I’ll be using. Any symbols, colors, or elements that will be central to the piece.
- Feedback time: Your input is crucial here! You’ll have the chance to review the concept and suggest any changes or additions.
- Why it’s important: This phase ensures that we’re aligned on the vision before moving forward. It's an opportunity to fine-tune the details, so the final piece reflects your personality and desires.
Canvas Reveal
With the concept approved and materials chosen, I’ll begin the process of creating your custom artwork. This phase typically takes several weeks or months, depending on the complexity of the piece.
- How I work: I will keep you updated throughout the process, providing progress photos and notes so you can see how your vision is coming to life.
- What to expect: During the creation phase, there may be opportunities to adjust small details, but major changes will have already been finalised in the concept stage.
- Why it’s important: This is where your story starts to take shape on canvas (or whatever medium we’re working with). It's an immersive, transformative part of the process.
