Madeline is what happens when green refuses to stay quiet. Vibrant greens push into golden yellows, layer over layer, colour moving the way memory moves: in waves, without permission. Underneath the movement sits structure, the architectural form that runs through everything I make. The man-made and the organic negotiating for the same surface.

This is my Lebanese-Australian perspective on canvas. Two geographies, one frequency. Part of my portrait series: not a portrait of a face, a portrait of the energy a person gives off.

About the artist
